In stories they say Aphrodite appears as the one that you are attracted to. But to me I feel as though Aphrodite would appear to me not as a person.

But to me I feel
as though Aphrodite
would appear to me not as a person.
She would be a smile and a laugh.
She would be a song or a film.
She would be a collection of love letters
or the stars under the sky
or the scent of flowers in the air.
She would be the withering flash flood
of all that she says and does and leaves behind.
She would be an impossible, inviolable fingerprint
of her own presence
Unique to all else
in the universe.
