It’s been a hot minute! I totally, absolutely, surely, completely didn’t forget about this. I’m currently standing at 1467 videos left in my Watch Later playlist. In Entry #4 :I was at 1470, so at least I’m not going backwards…

Exactly what it says on the tin. Not a particularly extravagant video, and honestly it wasn’t all that interesting. Spoiler alert: his forehead was on Akinator, but he couldn’t get Akinator to guess it correctly.

This was definitely a wonderful idea, but I think the execution was a bit rough. One server was with Minecraft Java Edition, the other was Bedrock. I think it would’ve been awesome to have had the same seed on both servers, but that sadly didn’t happen. There were also a lot of connection issues apparently that fumbled the experience for some players. In the end, it turned out that the Java server was a lot more civil and chill than the Bedrock server, which Ibxtoycat surmises was due to Bedrock being played by a younger audience. Watch if you’re interested, but it’s 40 minutes and I wasn’t too impressed.

A CGP staple – if you haven’t watched it before, watch it. It’s super interesting learning about just how isolated the left and right brains are, and I remember watching this all those years ago wondering almost if this was some elaborate world-building ARG-style video. It was that unreal. It does make you think a lot about how much of your thoughts are really your own thoughts, and how much of it is just a scared little monkey jumping up and down on the philosophical bed while a little desk worker peers at it through a murky window trying to discern what it all means.
There is also a real smooth transition at the end from CGP Grey speaking to a Kurzgesagt plug.

There are so many good one-liners in this video. A must-watch.

Also, their captions use the almighty semicolon.

This video happens to be the most popular video in my entire watch later playlist, coming in at 119M views. And for good reason.
:This guy is nuts, it beggars belief. He can talk faster than I can think. When I speak, I feel like I have to push my disembodied thoughts through a cheese grater to translate them into written word, for my mouth to then read out. I think it’s a combination of sheer talent and intensively good social wit. How else can you be so quick to the tongue? It’s easy speaking relatively fast, but to speak at the speed while still remaining coherent is incredible.
Also, the interview in this video happened in 1987 – the interviewer says something that is understandably pretty funny 30 years later:
Here’s a new contemporary challenge; this is from Michael Jackson’s new album – here’s first cut there, ‘Bad’…
And without practice, the guys read out the song up to the end of the first chorus in 20 seconds.
I think the closest that I can relate to this is how fast I type, otherwise this is completely out of my depth. It’s really amazing the kinds of things you can win in the Guinness World Records.
